Robert Smith

Robert Smith is the Head Boys Varsity Coach at one of the Nation’s best High School programs – Simeon Academy in Chicago, Illinois. During his 4 seasons at Simeon he has a winning percentage of near .750 and has won 2 state titles. In that time he has also won 2 Public League championships, 3 Pontiac Tournament titles and has defeated the #1 High School Team in the nation, Oak Hill Academy (VA). In addition, his team has played at Madison Square Garden and was in the first High School game televised by ESPN (not ESPN2 or ESPNU).

Before becoming the Head Coach at Simeon Robert worked as an assistant there. Before that he had a successful collegiate career as a player and played his High School ball at Simeon.

He has had the opportunity to play with and against some very high caliber players and has coached many as well – including NBA Rookie of the Year Derrick Rose. Coach Smith sees amazing talent on a daily basis and it’s a privilege to have his advice and instruction as part of HoopSkills Academy.
